The IDM Pedal Project, founded by R. Luke DuBois in 2021, is a an open-source repository of audio signal processing algorithms designed and implemented as guitar effect pedals. Utilizing Max/MSP for programming, these “patches” are uploaded onto the the Daisy Seed embedded platform by Electrosmith and effectively used as guitar pedals. These patches can be designed to emulate widely used and common digital effects to more experimental effects found on the repository and on github. Not just limited to guitar pedals, with the inclusion of RNBO in the latest version of Max/MSP these effects can now be produced as VSTs as well and work with a variety of DAWs.
